English Lesson 2: ‘born on’ and ‘born in’; ‘live in’, ‘live on’ and ‘live at’

‘born on’ – used when exact date or particular day is given

example:

born on Monday

born on March 27, 1988

‘born in’ – used when the name of a place, name of the month or particular year is given

example:

born in July

born in Iloilo

born in February 1979

‘live in’ – used when that name of a barrio, barangay, village, subdivision, province, town or country is given.

example:

live in Barangay Poblacion

live in Barrio Laonlaan

live in Meralco Village

live in the Philippines

‘live on’ – used when the name of a street, alley, island or farm is given

example:

live on MacDonald Farm

live on Sapphire Street

‘live at’ – used when the address starts with the number

example:

live at 113 Neptune St.
